Established by our client in 2001, the business is now being offered to the market to allow our client to concentrate on other business activities. The business has over 20 commercial cleaning contracts and several commercial window cleaning contracts in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. Virtually all of the cleaning contracts are for day time or evening office cleaning, Monday to Friday (no public holidays) and a large proportion of the contracts have been held for long periods, many in excess of 10 years. This is an excellent client retention rate which is the envy of their competitors. Additionally, there is an account in place with a well-known supplier of janitorial products (toilet rolls, hand towels, refuse sacks etc are delivered direct by the supplier to client sites). Due to the demands of the other business interests, our client has re-modelled the business so that it requires little or no day to day management. Our client currently spends no more than 1 hour each day managing this business. An Area Supervisor takes care of all the day to day running and liaises with both clients and cleaners. Staff turnover is negligible and most of the part time cleaners have been employed for more than 5 years (a few have been employed for more than 10 years). There are comprehensive procedures in place relating to health and safety, staff training, risk assessments and method statements. Accounts, payroll and telephone answering are all outsourced to a third party and therefore if managed by a new buyer would easily add an extra £20,000 to current net profit.
